About CT Chimney Repair

Focused on chimney repair, rebuilding, venting, water protection and fireplace systems.

CT Chimney Repair serves homeowners throughout Central Connecticut from our Unionville location. Since 2003, our work has centered on the systems that protect and vent the home: masonry chimneys, fireplace structures, flue liners, chimney tops, dampers, water protection and inspections.
Our goal is straightforward: understand the condition, explain what we see, recommend the appropriate repair or service, and complete the work with attention to the details that affect long-term performance.

Our story

Built Around Chimney Repair & Problem Solving

Chimneys are exposed to some of the most punishing conditions on a home. Rain, snow, freeze-thaw cycles, heat, combustion byproducts and decades of weather can all affect brick, mortar, crowns, flashing, liners and fireplace components.
That is why our work is not centered on one product or one repair method. We look at the chimney as a system. A leak may involve masonry absorption, crown failure, flashing, a cap or several conditions at the same time. A venting problem may involve the liner, appliance connection, damper, flue size or system configuration.
Our role is to identify the condition as accurately as practical, explain what is significant, and recommend the repair or service that fits the actual chimney.

How we approach the work

What Matters to Us on a Chimney Project

Good chimney work is often about details that are easy to miss from the ground. Our process emphasizes condition, fit, water management, venting and clear communication.

1

Understand the Cause

We try to determine why a chimney is leaking, deteriorating or venting poorly rather than treating only the most visible symptom.

2

Repair Before Covering

Failed mortar, damaged brick, cracked crowns and other defects should be repaired rather than hidden behind coatings or temporary fixes.

3

Use the Right System

Liners, caps, chase covers, dampers and water repellents need to fit the chimney and intended application.

4

Explain the Next Step

Homeowners should understand what was observed, what is recommended and why the repair or service is being proposed.

Technology + experience

Better Information Leads to Better Decisions

Technology does not replace experience, but it can improve what we are able to see and document. Internal cameras can help evaluate accessible flue surfaces, while drone-assisted exterior imaging can provide additional views of tall or difficult chimney areas when conditions permit.
We also place value on continuing education. Chimney systems vary widely by age, construction, appliance type, fuel and previous repair history. Staying current helps us evaluate those differences more effectively.

Camera / Video Scanning

Useful for documenting internal flue conditions when included in the appropriate inspection scope.
